Figure & Motion
Bronze & Plasteline
This interdisciplinary class brought two rudiments of figurativeness together: Animated plasticinemodels from the figure animation and the classic figure casting in bronze. What both have in common is the idea of the frozen movement, to understand activeness as a single or a row of static conditions.
I found the movement of an old woman interesting, which I saw almost everyday from my window in the agency that I worked in. Everyday she was cleaning up the house and rattle the carpet. I choose this movement, the shaking of the carpet, for my stop motion film and my bronze figure.
